Several excellent museums and galleries are housed in Belgrade, including the National Museum, the Gallery of Frescoes, the Ethnographic Museum, and the Palace of Princess Ljubice. Matica Srpska is Serbia's oldest and most significant cultural and scientific institution.

Serbian cuisine is a Balkan cuisine comprising Serbia's culinary methods and traditions. The cuisine has evolved through cultural interactions and influences with Greece, the Byzantine Empire, the Ottomans, and other Balkan neighbours. 

Some of Serbia's most famous national dishes include sarma, a mixture of ground pork or beef with rice rolled in cabbage leaves. Gibanica is an egg and cheese pie made with filo dough, and pljeskavica is a ground beef or pork patty. Additionally, various soups, such as soup made with paprika and meat and vegetables, are usually seasoned with paprika and other spices. The national drink of Serbia is rakia.

When visiting Belgrade, the Beogradska Tvrdava fortress stands tall as a testament to the city's rich history and strategic importance. Walking through Kalemegdan, the vast park surrounding the fort, you can feel the city's energy and vitality.

In Novi Sad, Petrovaradin Fortress sits atop a riverside bluff, offering breathtaking views of the Danube River. Cross the river, and you'll find yourself in the old quarter of Stari Grad, where the Name of Mary Church and City Hall stand as symbols of the city's Gothic Revival and neo-Renaissance architecture.

As you travel throughout Serbia, you'll discover hidden gems like Gostusa, a village made entirely from stone, and the Old Fortress of Ras, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And in Belgrade, the Church of Saint Sava welcomes you with open arms, proudly symbolising Serbia's Orthodox faith. Other places to visit are Nis, Subotica, Tara and Kopaonik.
